Mastering the Art: How to Get Your Baby to Sleep Through the Night with Proven Strategies

Expressing Gratitude for Your Support in Achieving Restful Nights!

Before delving into sleep training for my 12-month-old daughter, who would wake 3 or 4 times, seemingly inconsolable until comforted with breastfeeding, we faced sleep challenges.

Recognizing the toll on my patience and its impact on my partner, baby, and 3-year-old during the day, we made the decision to reclaim restful nights with effective strategies on how to get a baby to sleep through the night.

I wanted to extend my sincere thanks for your invaluable help in this process. Your support has been instrumental in bringing peaceful sleep back into our lives!

I went cold turkey on the overnight feeds and the first two nights of spaced soothing were ROUGH!

There was a lot of crying by all involved and very little sleep, but we held firm despite starting to seriously consider alternative approaches.

We decided to give it 3 days and if no improvement we would try something else.

Night 3 had 5 or 6 wakes but the crying at each of those wakes was less than 10 minutes so although we woke multiple times we didn't get out of bed.

Last night (night 4) we slept right through!

My daughter went to bed at 7 and woke at 6, grizzled for 5 mins then went back to sleep until our usual wakeup time of 6:45am!

happy baby sleep consult
It was the first full night of sleep I've had since half way through my pregnancy.

My daughter seemed like the only way she would sleep was waking multiple times a night for mum cuddles and boob, but after not getting that for a couple of nights she was happy to sleep right through.

Fortunately, I have a very happy baby regardless of how much sleep she gets.

I am another story though!

I was definitely not coping with the multiple wake-ups a night, only having a series of naps rather than a sleep was definitely taking its toll on me.

Now that I am getting a full night's sleep again, I find I have much more energy to deal with my older, very active and presently very demanding three year old, he was bearing the brunt of grumpy, poorly slept Mum and the mum-guilt was strong.

Sleep training helped the family!

Now that I am more rested, and thus more patient, he seems to be having fewer tantrums so although my one year was fine no matter how much sleep she had, her brother and I are much better off for it.!
